What is ashlar stonemasonry?
Here at Port Douglas Stonemasonry, we specialise in a type of stonemasonry which has created some of the most impressive structures across the world. Ashlar stonemasonry was once commonly used to create palaces, castles, cathedrals, temples, and even entire cities! Many of these structures are still standing after hundreds of years, which is a testament to the quality of the ashlar stone and the construction methods.
Ashlar stone is stone that is finely and purposefully cut and worked into blocks and slabs. Because they have been so skilfully refined, ashlar stones fit together better than many other types of masonry and have a particularly beautiful finish. Our ashlar stone comes in a variety of hues including reds, yellows, blues, and pinks. When you hire us to work on your stonemasonry project, we’ll create something for you that will stand the test of time as well as being stunning to look at.

We can arrange for transport as far as Cairns, but customers who are further abroad will have to arrange for their own transport.
